This century road bike challenge takes you around northern Phuket on good roads and offers up spectacular views. Starting from the SpiceRoads Phuket office you'll head west and cycle the Laguna region. Once active tin mines, the Laguna we know today has beautifully transformed into 5-star resorts. You'll then zip the coastline flanked by coconut palms, passing several beaches. There are heart-pumping hills here with some short but steep sections. Care should also be taken on the descents. Take in the fresh air as you approach the national park and the road meanders gently left and right. The touchpoint is the Sarasin bridge which connects the island to the mainland. After a photo opportunity, you will turn back into the island and cycle down the east side. You will take country roads cutting through forests and rubber tree plantations. There are a few small hills at the beginning of the ride and a short challenging one towards the end. This is a challenging ride and the fitter you are, the more you will enjoy the ride. There will be breaks in between to rest and have some refreshments. This is a 100 km challenge for riders with experience on a road bike. We ride on smooth tarmac, mainly on rural roads, but there will be unavoidable sections on the main road. However, there is a wide shoulder. The expert guide knows the route well and will accompany you the entire way. All you have to do is concentrate on your ride and enjoy the views.
